Positive Canine Nutrition

Is your dog scratching excessively, often hyperactive, fussy over food, showing increasing signs of reactivity or resource guarding, suffering from gastro intestinal issues, or doing a lot of poos!? Food could be a huge root factor of these issues...

Learn how to decipher dog food labelling, unpick flashy jargon to weed out the good from the bad, and gain an understanding of how food can directly impact your dog's behaviour and health

Work with our Canine Nutritionist, Sam, through this bespoke and tailored service to find a food that aligns with your budget, blends with your lifestyle and suits your dog and their needs

Who runs this service?

This service is run by our in-house Canine Nutritionist, Sam, who has a special interest in how diet directly affects behaviour. Sam has been working in the pet food industry for over 15 years which has given her an extensive working brand knowledge. In addition, Sam is a consultant under the APNC (Association of Pet Nutrition Consultants) and has completed an Ofqual iPet Canine Nutrition Qualification, taken courses in Canine Behaviour & Nutrition held by Dr Charlotte Grey, a veterinary surgeon who specialises in nutrition, and continues to broaden her knowledge through regularly attending seminars and conferences on dog health and nutrition to keep up to date with the latest product brands and information. All of this enables Sam to offer an extensive service to you and your dog.

Making a diet change and/or getting ahead of a food intolerance can really bring out positive changes in your dog's behaviour and in turn your family life

This service can be stand alone, or work in conjunction with Behaviour Consultations and/or Veterinary Physiotherapy Sessions.

What do clients say?

"Sam gave us amazing advice and guidance. Digby hasn't got an upset stomach now, is not refusing food and his body condition is looking great. Thanks Sam, you are amazing!"

"I met Sam from APDS at a time when my 18month old dog Scout was severely under weight. We had exhausted so many options and spent £1000's in vet bills to find nothing. Sam has been truly amazing. She immediately took us on and worked tirelessly to try to find out what the problem was. Her kindness, reassurance and attention to detail has been second to none, we love this lady! Today Scout hit his ideal weight, putting on over 4kg, which a few months ago was looking impossible. Sam is so conscious of health and nutrition but at the same time ensuring we have a programme that works for us as a family. We can't thank Sam and APDS enough for allowing Scout to reach his full potential in growth and health. Absolutely 5 🌟 huge thank you."
